Logan Regional Medical Center Appoints Justin Turner, MBA, as its New CEO
LOGAN, West Virginia (July 24, 2025) – Logan Regional Medical Center (LRMC or Logan Regional) today announced that Justin Turner, MBA, has accepted the role of CEO effective August 18. The new role marks a homecoming of sorts for Turner, who began his healthcare career at LRMC and held various leadership positions at the hospital from 2012 to 2020.
“We are excited to bring Justin back to Logan Regional, a hospital and team he knows well,” said Russell Pigg, President, Community Hospitals Division at ScionHealth, CPRMC’s parent company. “He immersed himself in several aspects of hospital operations during his first stint at the hospital, and has since led two hospitals as Chief Operating Officer, making a positive impact on areas essential to community hospitals, such as volume growth, physician recruitment, and service expansion. We look forward to Justin and the team continuing LRMC’s positive momentum while providing exceptional care to Logan-area patients.”
Justin most recently served as Chief Operating Officer at Rivers Health (part of Marshall Health Network) in Point Pleasant, WV, and prior to that, Chief Operating Officer at Highlands Regional Medical Center (part of Appalachian Regional Healthcare) in Prestonsburg, KY. In each role, he had oversight over day-to-day operations, including several departments, capital projects, service expansions, and more. At Rivers Health, for instance, he successfully lobbied for State Rural Health Funds and USDA funds to assist with the hospital’s new $12 million Emergency Department.
While at Logan Regional, Justin directed areas such as business development, customer service, marketing, and physician recruitment before becoming the hospital’s assistant administrator. During his tenure at the hospital, he was selected as the 2018 Business Professional of the Year by the Logan County Chamber of Commerce and won the Young Gun Award 2017 from West Virginia Executive Magazine.
Justin earned his Master of Business Administration at Florida Tech in Melbourne, FL, and his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Charleston in Charleston, WV. The Logan, WV native said he is excited to return to Logan Regional and lead the hospital that helped launch his career in healthcare.
“This is an incredible opportunity, both professionally and personally,” he said. “To be able to come ‘home’ and join such an exceptional team and hospital is an honor and a blessing. This is a great hospital today, and it will be our mission as a team to make it a top-performing hospital tomorrow and for generations to come. I’m thrilled to join a hospital that has a great partnership with our community and provides outstanding care to our patients, and I look forward to working with our team to find ways to make our hospital even better.”
Justin takes the reins of a hospital just named to the Becker’s Hospital Review 2025 listing of “Great Community Hospitals.” Logan Regional also recently earned the prestigious “A” grade for patient safety from The Leapfrog Group (the only hospital in the state to earn the top mark), was included in Newsweek’s “America’s Best-in-State” hospitals listing, and won the Gold Honor for Excellence in Patient Care from the West Virginia Hospital Association.
