Logan Regional Medical Center Expands Urology Services with Addition of Dr. Kyle S. Ames, DO, MS
LOGAN, W.Va. – Logan Regional Medical Center is expanding access to specialized urological care in southern West Virginia with the additional of Kyle S. Ames, DO, MS, who has joined Logan Regional as a full-time urologist.
Dr. Ames completed his residency in urological surgery in June 2026 at Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) in Charleston, West Virginia, and brings a broad range of urological expertise to Logan Regional. He currently practices general urology, with a focus on endourology, oncology, and minimally invasive surgery.
“We are extremely excited to welcome Dr. Ames to Logan Regional Medical Center,” said Justin Turner, CEO of Logan Regional Medical Center. “Having a full-time urologist in our community is a tremendous benefit to our patients and represents another important step in expanding specialty care close to home. Dr. Ames brings a great combination of expertise, advanced surgical training and a genuine desire to serve the people of southern West Virginia.”
Dr. Ames treats a wide range of urological conditions affecting both men and women. His areas of expertise include general urology, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and enlarged prostate, elevated PSA, kidney stones, prostate cancer, bladder cancer, kidney cancer, erectile dysfunction, urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, bladder dysfunction, low testosterone, vasectomy and urinary tract infections.
In addition to providing comprehensive general urological care, Dr. Ames plans to offer minimally invasive robotic surgery for appropriate urological conditions, bringing advanced surgical options to patients in the region.
“I’m excited to join Logan Regional Medical Center and serve the patients of southern West Virginia,” said Dr. Ames. “I look forward to helping patients navigate their urological needs and providing high-quality, compassionate care close to home.”
Dr. Ames earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2021 before completing his residency in urological surgery at CAMC.
His addition to Logan Regional’s medical staff further strengthens the hospital’s growing specialty care offerings and provides patients with another option to receive complex care locally rather than traveling outside the region.
“Access to specialty care is incredibly important for a community like ours,” Turner said. “We want our patients to know they can receive excellent care right here in Logan. We are proud to welcome Dr. Ames and look forward to the difference he will make for our patients and families.”
