Coalfield Health to Provide Primary Care Services at Logan Regional

New partnership leverages Coalfield’s status as a Federally Qualified Health Center to strengthen primary care services in the area while maintaining seamless access to LRMC’s hospital services.

LOGAN, West Virginia (April 24, 2026) – Logan Regional Medical Center (LRMC) has reached an agreement with Coalfield Health in which Coalfield will employ Logan Regional’s primary care staff and provide primary care services at the hospital’s clinics. This transition is expected to take place beginning May 1.

Through this collaboration, Chapmanville-based Coalfield will expand its reach in the Logan area while enhancing access to care. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Coalfield Health provides affordable care to underserved populations and can offer patients access to discounted medications through 340b drug pricing. Current Logan Regional primary care patients will still be able to see their same physicians at the same locations, but the providers will be employed by Coalfield Health.

“We believe this partnership strengthens primary care in the Logan area by teaming with an organization with deep expertise in the specialty and the ability to provide more affordable, accessible medications to our patients,” said Justin Turner, CEO of LRMC. “Little else changes for our providers and patients, including access to hospital services, if needed. We view this as a win for all parties involved.”

“We are excited to welcome Logan Regional primary care providers to our team and look forward to continuing to support the primary care needs of Logan-area residents,” said Brent Tomblin, CEO, Coalfield Health. “We believe this partnership between two of the area’s top providers solidifies the provision of essential healthcare services to the region.”

Patients who currently see a primary care provider at Logan Regional will not need to take any action. Medical records and upcoming appointments will automatically be transferred to Coalfield Health. Patients on prescription medications may qualify for reduced pricing through the 340B program once the transition is complete. They are encouraged to discuss this with their provider in the coming months.
