Logan Regional Medical Center Honors Outstanding Nurses During Annual Nurse of the Year Celebration

Logan Regional Medical Center (LRMC) proudly celebrated its nursing staff during its annual Nurse of the Year Celebration, held at the Special Occasions Event Center. The event served as the highlight of a week-long Nurses Week celebration, recognizing the dedication and compassion of the hospital’s nursing team.

Throughout the week, nurses were honored with an ice cream social, thoughtful goodie bags, and a special appreciation luncheon. The week culminated with a formal celebration where nurses from each department were recognized for their exceptional contributions to patient care.

The hospital also proudly recognized Necole Lester as the Overall LRMC Nurse of the Year, honoring her outstanding commitment to patient care, teamwork, and leadership.

In a new addition to this year’s program, LRMC presented its first-ever Nursing Director of the Year Award, which was awarded to Tammy Swims, Director of Surgical Services.

“This celebration is one of the most meaningful events of the year,” said Jeanette Sexton, Chief Nursing Officer at Logan Regional Medical Center. “Our nurses are the heart of this hospital — their skill, compassion, and dedication truly make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families every single day. We’re incredibly proud to honor them and the critical role they play in delivering high-quality care to our community.”
