The Radiology Department of Logan Regional Medical Center provides a full array of services both in the Radiology Department and in remote locations by utilization of a portable radiology unit.
The Radiology Department of Logan Regional Medical Center also provides services to physician's offices through patient referrals. A written referral must be presented at the time of registration to allow the Radiologic Technologist to identify and complete the examination. This written referral must include the examination to be completed, a diagnosis for the examination (to include CPT and ICD-9 Coding) and the signature of the physician.
Computed Tomography (CT)
Patients arriving in the Computed Tomography Department from the Emergency Department (ED) are returned to their ED room by Radiology staff at the completion of their examination. Outpatients that arrive independently will be escorted to the Cashier or directed to their next destination at the completion of the examination. Examinations are taken by a Radiologic Technologist with specialized training in Computed Tomography technology and presented for interpretation to the Radiologist. Reports of examinations are forwarded electronically to the patient's physician or health care provider. The Computed Tomography Department is staffed and/or on call 24 hours daily to assure the ability to provide services to patients that are admitted to the facility. Nuclear Medicine
Patients arrive in the Nuclear Medicine Department from the Emergency Department (ED) are returned to their ED room by Radiology staff at the completion of their examination. Outpatients that arrive independently will be escorted to the Cashier or directed to their next destination at the completion of the examination. Examinations are taken by a Radiologic Technologist with specialized training in Nuclear Medicine technology and presented for interpretation to the Radiologist. Reports of examinations are forwarded electronically to the patient's physician or health care provider. The Nuclear Medicine Department is staffed and/or on call 24 hours daily to assure the ability to provide services to patients that are admitted to the facility. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Magnetic Resonance Imaging services are available Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm by appointment only. The Centralized Scheduling Department can be reached at (304) 831-1928 to arrange for an appointment. Patients present to the Radiology Department for Registration before proceeding to the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Department to allow for the completion of their examinations. Examinations are taken by a Radiologic Technologist with specialized training in Magnetic Resonance Imaging technology and presented for interpretation to the Radiologist. Reports of examinations are forwarded electronically to the patient's physician or health care provider.
Mammography
Patients arrive in the Radiology Department to allow for the completion of their examinations and are escorted to the Cashier or directed to their next destination at the completion of their examination. The Centralized Scheduling Department can be reached at (304) 831-1928 to schedule an appointment for Mammography Services. Needle-localization services are provided through admission to Same Day Surgery, and the patient is transported to the Radiology Department by Same Day Surgery staff members for their examination. Following the completion of the Needle-localization procedure, the patient is returned to Same Day Surgery for the completion of their care. Examinations are taken by a Radiologic Technologist with specialized training in Mammography and presented for interpretation to the Radiologist. Reports of examinations are forwarded electronically to the patient's physician or health care provider. The Mammography Department of Logan Regional Medical Center is in compliance with the Federal Drug Administration's Mammography Quality Standards Act (FDA/MQSA) with verification through annual inspections.
Radiology

Examinations are taken by a Radiologic Technologist with specialized training in Ultrasound technology and presented for interpretation to the Radiologist. Reports of examinations are forwarded electronically to the patient's physician or health care provider. The Ultrasound Department is staffed and/or on call 24 hours daily to assure the ability to provide services to patients that are admitted to the facility.
