2007 Mercy Award Winner

Pam Hapney was recently awarded Logan Regional Medical Center 2007 Mercy Award. This honor puts Hapney in the running for LifePoint's 2007 companywide Mercy Award, the highest honor an employee can receive from LifePoint Hospitals, Inc., Logan Regional's parent company.

LifePoint's Mercy Award recognizes one employee who best represents the humanitarian spirit on which the company was founded. The award honors Scott Mercy, LifePoint's founding chairman and CEO, who died in 2000, and recognizes employees who inspires others with their compassion and merciful spirit.

The winner will be honored in June at a ceremony during LifePoint's Senior Leadership Retreat in San Diego.

Hapney is employed as the Housekeeping supervisor for Logan Regional Medical Center. She is described by her co-workers as the "go to" person when you need anything. Her creativity shines not only in the celebration decorations she provides but in the solutions she finds to make all patients and families comfortable.

"I'm speechless," Hapney said. "This is such an honor, I am blessed."

Hapney resides at Omar with her husband Steve. They have been married for 23 years and are the proud parents of five children. Hapney attends the #14 Church at Whitman where her son-in-law is the pastor. She actively participates with the youth and is currently working on starting a choir. She is an involved community member and loves helping anyone in need. She also assists her sister at her floral shop.

"LifePoint Hospitals is committed to delivering quality patient care. We are extremely proud to recognize Pam for her efforts on behalf of our patients and our community," said Kevin Fowler, Logan Regional Medical Center CEO. "Her exemplary work and compassion sets a high standard for healthcare professionals. We are proud to have her as part of our employee family. Undoubtedly, our patients benefit from the kind of commitment to humanitarian concerns she demonstrates each day."
